I have a confession to make…..I am a prepper! Not like the end of days, basement stocked up with food and water for a year type prepper. I am a baby prepper! As an aspiring mom, I am learning so much from my friends and family which makes me realize how much there is to do once you get pregnant. Also, I am going to go out on a limb here and say….I think I know why God created a world where it takes 9 months to create a baby, because there is no way you can get it all together in less than 9 months. Why not start now? We can be baby preppers together and it will be totally normal. I believe when God puts it on your heart to be a mom it will happen. Not in your timing or the way you imagine it but He has a plan and all you can do is start living in belief that he has answered your prayer. Maybe its a little early to start packing my bag for the hospital, but it doesn’t hurt to ask all my friends for suggestions on making my list (I LOVE CHECKLISTS).
After talking with some of my mom friends, I compiled a list of absolute MUST haves for the hospital. There were so many things I would never have thought about, some of which kind of scare me (lets be real, your body is about to deliver a tiny human). My first list was huge and upon showing it to my bestie she was like “Woah girl, your only going to be there ideally like 24-48 hours! You do not NEED that much stuff.” She also reminded me of all the items the hospital will provide you with and ALL the extra stuff I will be taking with me when I leave with my precious baby. So in an effort to minimize the need for a U-Haul when I leave the hospital, I narrowed it down a bit!
Some people suggested having a few extra comforts from home, such as their own pillow, towel, essential oils and diffuser, and a speaker for soft music.
Feel free to email me using my contact page if you have additional suggestions or would like a copy of the checklist.
