I have been thinking about this a lot lately, even asking friends how they did it. Did they make a big deal out of it or was it something simple. I don’t know about you, but I love surprises! The struggle I have is keeping my husband from guessing it before it happens, apparently he can see right through me. Writing this blog is a little scary, I had to tell him NOT to read it because one day I hope to plan the ultimate reveal. Keeping this in mind, I will have to plan ahead and have everything ready to go….because as soon as the pregnancy test says its happening I won’t be able to contain myself! After spending way to much time on Pinterest, I consolidated a list of some of my personal favorites.
First and foremost, regardless of how you decide to tell your husband I hope you do one thing….buy a Thank you card and include a handwritten note, jotting down all the things you love about him, things you are excited about for your future, and the news of your newest family member. I still have the paper my husband prepared his proposal on, where he wrote down the promises for our marriage and what he loved about me. I could only hope that this thank you note will also hold a special place in both our hearts.
I encourage you to put some thought into creating a special moment you and your husband will cherish forever. This moment will be absolutely priceless so consider setting up your phone to video his honest reaction, you and your baby will love to relive later. The way I see it, the proposal was your husbands big surprise for you, and now its your opportunity to have a little fun!
How to tell your husband the BIG news?
Recreate your proposal – Here is an adorable suggestion
Wrap a baby book– Here is a book I LOVE
Dad survival kit – Great list of dad-to-be items
Wrap an adorable pair of baby shoes (gender neutral is recommended)
Surprise photo shoot (I can help you with this one)
I hope these get you excited about the moment you get to tell your husband the greatest news you could ever share with him. As a side note to my friends and family who may have seen my latest Pinterest pins, I am not pregnant…just doing some research!
