WARNING: Do not read this if you haven’t finished ‘This Is Us’ Season 1.
Didn’t it break your heart when William passed away? (Sorry for the spoiler alert…I told you not to read this if you weren’t up to date) We just started getting to know him and then he took us on this journey to Memphis just to say goodbye. Oh man….tear jerker! And I am not a crier. What I loved most about it, was how they celebrated him! Watching them create a memory box, adding the items that remind them of the good times. William teaching Tess how to play chess.
My own grandfather, whom we affectionately called “Ahbull”, passed away not long ago. I could listen to his tales for hours. As I think about creating a keepsake box, I smile as I think about all the items I will put in it.
Ahbull was a golfer and would put a penny in his ear until he hit his ball on the green then used it to mark his ball. After golfing he would come home and say, “Sorry I can’t hear you, I have a penny in my ear.”
One of our favorite things to do with Ahbull was riding around in his golf cart and during the winter months we would collect stray golf balls that were hit in the woods.
A photo of us from Magic Springs. I would give anything to go back to one of those beautiful summer days at the amusement park.
A memento from my grandparents square dancing days. According to my Ahbull my family owes our heritage to that honky tonk bar, formerly named BJs Star Studded Honky Tonk. His favorite pastime was square dancing. He and my Grandma loved to go dancing every chance they got.
Out las family photo taken on Thanksgiving 4 years ago, we had no idea it would be our last formal family photo.
|Ahbull and Grandma holding Hayden, my nephew, in the hospital after he was born. Not knowing at the time this would be the only great grandchild he would ever met in person.
This right here, is why I do what I do!
The beginning of a new generation, and the precious moments when great grandparents get to bond with their great grand babies.
As I look at these items and fight the tears, I am filled with thankfulness. God blessed me and my family with so many wonderful memories. This keepsake box is my way of honoring my heritage, and sharing those memories with my children.
I’m making it my personal mission to help you document the cherished relationship between your baby and their Grandparents, and great Grandparents if they are lucky enough to have them. The goal is to provide you with beautiful keepsake box along with images you can look back on for years to come and reflect on your favorite memories together.
In comes the “Heritage” project
We are starting the “Heritage project” to help you freeze a moment in time between your baby and their Grandparents. The main goal is to provide you with a special time set aside for your children and and their ‘grands’ to enjoy their special relationship. Through this process I am going to capture photographs that make you feel thankful to have such an amazing family history and remind you of this precious relationship your children get to have with their ‘grands’.
Who we’re looking for
We are looking for moms with young children who have grandparents that live nearby or can travel to Conway. Grandparents who want beautiful photos with their grandchildren.
Why “Heritage project”?
We want to capture love, beauty, and a legacy.
