The word hesitant might mean for one to be tentative, unsure, or slow in acting or speaking. Anytime someone asked me about having a baby, hesitant would have been the word to describe me. I was unsure about a lot of things and certainly very slow to speak on the subject of becoming a mom. However, God had other plans for me. I remember praying and asking God to prepare me for the next steps that I was so hesitant to take. Days later I found out I was pregnant, and that hesitation set in full force. So many questions flooded my mind. Am I ready? How many times do I have to go to the doctor? What about labor? Will I have a quick and easy delivery? Do we get one of those cool ultrasounds? How will I ever dress my child in all these clothes? Who is going to take my newborn pictures and how do I hold her in all those neat poses? What if I’ve never changed a diaper? As you can imagine my stress level was immediately on high alert, but I want to fast forward through all that and all those nine months of emotions and worry. The moment Henley got here my whole life changed. God knew exactly what he was doing. I immediately wondered why on earth I ever had an ounce of hesitation. God provided me with everything I needed throughout the entire process. My family and friends were the most supportive and helpful people on the planet.
I had the best doctor and nurses anyone could ever ask for during my time at the Renaissance Center and Conway Regional. We did get one of those “cool” ultrasounds I had wondered about thanks to Tonya at Baby Bumps and Beyond. Because of her ultrasound, that heightened our anticipation to meet our grinning little girl!
Finally, we had a newborn session. I was again, as you can imagine, hesitant about this process. However, my expectations of this day were nothing like I would have planned. Kyle and I literally just brought our precious cargo, and the rest was left up to Jordan at Easley Life Photography. She provided all the props and clothes a new family of a little princess could dream of. The way she handled my week old baby made me feel at ease because of her demeanor and the environment provided. We were even able to bring a family member to watch the whole process! Jordan was able to capture some of the most precious moments that we could ever ask for. Our baby girl looked just like she did from our 4D ultrasound! It was crazy! That grin was still there that we loved so much from months before. We will always be grateful of our experience during and after our pregnancy thanks to so many amazing women and businesses!
Here are a few of the sweet images we captured during Henley’s newborn session! I truly have a passion for new parents and feel newborn photography plays an important role in the bond with parents new baby!
