What is the best age to photograph a newborn?

Such a great question! I am so glad you asked! :) The answer completely depends on the type of newborn session you want! Posed or Lifestyle?

Posed:

Posed newborn photography is a studio session. To achieve the poses you know and love it’s best to capture them during those early sleepy days! So, to answer your question “What is the best age to photograph a newborn?” I would say between 7-14 days new. If you are reading this and your little one is already here and you are stressing, it is possible to do the session as late as 14-20 days new, just know that all poses are based on how the baby is sleeping and results may vary.

Lifestyle:

Lifestyle newborn photography is an in-home session. This type of session mostly includes parents-holding-the-baby, which gives you a longer window of time to photograph. For this type of session, I would say you could more easily do them as late as 1 month new. This type of session is not my specialty so I would defer to someone who specializes in lifestyle photography for the offical answer! ;)
